Ask our Adviser

"My dad is finding it harder and harder to manage but he is so stubborn, he refuses any help we offer. He does occasionally get a taxi from the shops rather than the bus. Is there any help we can access for him?" - Service User

Your father may well be entitled to Attendance Allowance. It is important to realise that you don’t actually need to be in receipt of help to qualify. You just need to demonstrate the need for help. The lower rate of £68.10 per week would help pay for taxis to make life easier for your dad so it’s worth investigating and of course because it’s not means tested, it doesn’t matter what savings or income he has.
