Care Home Profitability

Ian Trenholm, chief executive of the care regulator the Care Quality Commission has said that the profitability of care homes remained at ‘historically low levels’ in 2022/23.


Using information from its market oversight scheme, it found continued financial pressures on care providers, resulting from staff costs, gas and electricity price rises, as well as inflation in food and other costs.
