Council Care Funding

No details were provided by Chancellor Rachel Reeve, about changes to the limits on how much councils can raise council tax to help fund adult social care.

This is known as the Council Precept and is a tax that councils can charge their local residents in order to cover spending on social care. This uplift is limited to 2% and has been essential in meeting care costs and the figure for 2025 will be announced in the draft local government finance settlement, due later in the year.
