A £500m fund to support discharge from hospital into the community and bolster the social care workforce has been welcomed by representative bodies but described as a ‘sticking plaster’. This was part of the latest government initiatives to support health and social care outlined in ‘Our plan for patients’ by Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Thérèse Coffey.
